Beijing Iron and Steel Research Institute was founded in 1952 as a more authoritative comprehensive research and development institution in the metallurgical industry. In 1999, it was transformed into a large technology enterprise directly under the central government. In early 2007, it became a wholly-owned subsidiary and core R&D platform of China Steel Research Technology Group Corporation. Under the leadership of the leadership team represented by Gan Yong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Iron and Steel Research Institute has been adhering to the original research and development strength, continuous innovation and practice in the three major fields of materials, technology and testing, and has become an international first-class research and development center in the industry. As the research and development base of metallurgical new materials in China, the General Institute of Iron and Steel Research has undertaken more than 85% of the research and development tasks of key metallurgical new materials in China, and has developed and produced a large number of key materials for many national key projects such as "two bombs and one star", "Long March series carrier rocket" and "Shenzhou" spacecraft, making significant contributions to China's national economic construction and national defense construction. Now the automatic iron powder processing line has been opened, and advanced dual-power structure mixing equipment has been adopted.
